U-M Faculty & Staff

PARTNER WITH WISE

Grant Proposals

WISE supports faculty research proposals in two ways: Partnering on research about gender equity in STEM and supporting your “Broader Impacts” sections. Partnering with you on developing activities for our summer camps is the primary avenue for Broader Impacts support. By teaching in our summer camps, you share the cutting edge research taking place at U-M with future scientists and engineers and can give your graduate students and post-docs fun opportunities to expand their teaching skills. If you’d like to partner on research or are interested in developing an activity for our camps, email us!

Student Engagement

WISE wants to create more connections between students and faculty on campus. To support that, we want to:

Feature you as a faculty role model through our social media channels.

Promote STEM courses, research opportunities and job openings in our student newsletter.

Co-host community building events that support a sense of belonging for STEM students in your department

Include you as a faculty expert on panels for learners on campus

RAISE AWARENESS

Promote WISE

Students learn about resources on campus from a range of sources, but they trust recommendations from peers, faculty and staff. You can raise awareness of WISE by sharing information with your students and post-docs, including information on how to join our newsletter. We’ve created a slide you can share with your students in class and lab meetings. Following us on Instagram & LinkedIn and sharing our posts, is helpful, too!

Become a Faculty or Staff Ambassador

WISE is recruiting a cohort of faculty and staff committed to STEM equity to share information about WISE with students and other faculty & staff in your department or program. We ask you to join us for an informal lunch once a semester and share information about our programs with your network. If you’re interested in becoming a Faculty or Staff Ambassador, email the WISE directors.
